Date a girl who runs. Date a girl who chooses to move than to let the world pass her by.
-Date a girl who runs by The Bull Runner
No, I’m not saying that you should date me or what…but this post from The Bull Runner makes me love the art of running more…
The blog post is just so me, except that I havent done any 21k or 42k runs. I enjoy the feel of being in touch with nature everytime I run before the break of dawn, or in the chilly evening beside the Baywalk at the Manila Bay.
I love the feel of the adrenaline rush everytime I run. I love the feel of the early morning heat as the sun rise up in the morning and the chilly air that makes one shiver in the evening. I also love the feel of having sorely tired legs after the running spree. And I love the feel of going back to my comfy bed after a good run.
I also noticed that I’m very OC (which is so not me in my daily routinary task) when it comes to running. I see to it that I had my sunscreen on to my face and in my arms and legs before the race, and check on my things to see if everything’s in place. I also worry about getting a new PR in every race that I joined, at my pacing, the stride, and in finishing the race in record time.
I love running as much as I love my family, my friends and God.
My love/hate relationship with running March 30, 2011

I was racing with this guy who is running for 21k (IDK his name lolz!) taken from the first fun run that I joined last March 2011.
It was all started when the company nurse told me that I was overweight during the annual physical examination at my office. I was literally shocked at first, and then I decided that I need to lose weight ASAP! so I went to our neighborhood gym, and later on to running.
It was a friend of mine who told me that the fastest way to lose some inches off my waist is to run, and she meant running on different places and not running on a threadmill. so I joined to my first fun run and signed up for the 10-kilometer category. My friends are ecstatic as they were surprised that I am running on that category, while I could do the 5k for starters, but my running friend told me that I could do that if I want to, so I did. (I just need some motivation to convince me that I can do it, lolz!)
It was quite hard at first as I need to get to the running rhythm, and with the help of some upbeat music and some runners along the way, I went out and stride until I went straight to the finish line.
and even though i had sorely tired feet after the run, it was great to finish the race in not-so record time.
I love to run because i love to see the great outdoors, and I love the feel of running because of the adrenaline rush. I love the feeling of being free and the cold air gushing on my face in the morning or in the evening everytime I run. I also envy those who run for marathons, and i always wonder on how they can run in a 42-kilometer race. i always thought that they had great stamina to withstand running for miles…
My running spree wasnt on a weekly basis when I’m still in a relationship, but now that I had all the time in my hands (and no one to bug me on a daily basis), I see to it that I will run once or twice a week, and if i couldnt run in the morning, then i see to it that i could run in the evening with my friends.
I’m now running for 5k category for now, for my friends are just starting to join in on us. and every now and then we see to it that we will jog on a weekly basis and yes, even joining some fun runs here and there.
I hate having a sorely tired feet, but i love to run. come and join me!
(and happy running anniversary to me!)

Ok, enough of the emo post na…

As soon as I learned from Angela about the Hyundai Accent Run, I immediately went on to their website to register.
And since the registration is free, I’m actually praying that I will be included to the said event.
And I made it!
Just a bit of information, the Hyundai Accent run is open for 5k and 10k runners, and This run is in partnership with HARIBON Foundation. Each participant will allow HARI to donate one native tree seedling to HARIBON as part of Hyundai’s socio-civic “Together We Can for a Green Tomorrow” pro-environment advocacy.
Winners for each category will be given trophies and Hyundai items. *
To all 5k runners, will see you soon!

Yakult 10-miler race February 28, 2011

I heart yakult!
It’s been months since I ran at the race and I missed it a lot. I miss the strides that i’m doing and the mile-long runs just before the sun rises up during weekends. I also miss going to the gym for an hour-long workouts, may it be in a cross-trainer, in a treadmill or doing some barbel exercises.
A friend of mine Angela just posted this link on facebook about the upcoming fun run entitled Yakult 10-miler race, it will be held on CCP this coming March 27th. I checked on some details and I think it’s a nice fun run, and it’s kinda cheap too compared to other fun runs hosted from well-known running organizers. And for only 300 pesos for the registration you will get a singlet, Yakult T-shirts, certificate of completion and a Yakult health drink.
So I guess I won’t be expecting more giveaways from them but I’m hoping that it’s an organized fun run. I Already had an experience running in some fun runs that consists of crowded people, fewer marshalls assisting the runners, poor water stations and even poor sanitation in the venue.
So this will be my first fun run for this year, hope everything went well!
And I’m looking forward to other running races this year!
And I need to start running now!
